SCARS

The Stapleton Coalition Against Reckless Speeders is a non-partisan, grass roots organization dedicated to reducing the number of accidents along St. Paul's Ave. and Van Duzer and Targee Streets. We are always looking for new members, so if you have a stake in this issue, please send us an email.

To read about our latest activities, here's a nice article by Advance reporter Doug Auer (thanks, Doug, for the coverage, btw).

If you are visiting this page in response to our recent "Slow Down" sign campaign, we will be launching a similar "School's Open; Slow Down" campaign this fall with the help of a $500 grant from Citizens for NYC. If you live on one the above mentioned streets and would like a free lawn or fence sign, call (718) 815-2329. If you live elsewhere but would still like a sign, we are charging a nominal fee to cover the cost. Call the same number for more info.

In the meantime, we are using this page to document accidents on St. Paul's Ave., Van Duzer Street and Targee Street. If you know of an accident not included on this list, please send us the pertinent information.
